Fauntleroy Residence
This modest 1940’s rambler, ubiquitous in Seattle, housed a family of four. The house was tiny (930 SF) and the kids were growing fast. The tight budget demanded we save the original structure, something allied8 loves to do. The original concrete stoop still greets people open entering just like it did in the 1940’s. We designed a two-story addition in the oversized side yard and popped the roof off of the original structure so the new roof line could be integrated between old and new. The new house is clean, simple and spatially gracious with light everywhere.
