This project is a full demolition and replacement in kind of an existing deteriorating overwater residence and pier structure, threatened by higher water levels. The entire structure must be rebuilt higher to protect the building elements and meet FEMA regulations.
The 1961 house was entirely reimagined with a much more functional layout that maximizes the visual connection to the surrounding water views and brings natural light deep within.
The project faces significant ecological and land use constraints and will result in no net loss of shoreline ecological functions. All proposed project work is a reduction of the total existing project area.
