Adaptive Reuse Policy
Allied8 was hired by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as a policy consultant to prepare a Model Adaptive Reuse Ordinance as part of the Trust’s Partnership for Building Reuse. This ordinance was included in a report that offered best practices for policymakers, developers, and community advocates interested in building reuse as a tool to create healthy, equitable, and resilient communities. The model ordinance is intended as a tool to incentivize reuse of older buildings that are not otherwise protected by a formal historic registry.
